Privacy Policy
Short version: we keep your email address and your scores, and nothing else.
What we store
You don't need an account to use this site. If you sign in, we store:
- Your email address, so we can send you sign-in codes.
- Your scores: for each quiz question or flashcard you answer, what was asked, whether you got it right, and when.
That's all. We don't ask for your name or store anything else about you in your account.
Like almost every website, our web server keeps standard access logs (which pages were requested, from which IP address, and when) to keep the site running and secure. These logs aren't linked to your account and are deleted automatically after two weeks.
How we use it
Only to show you your progress and, in future, to build practice that targets the things you find hardest. We never sell your data, share it with anyone, use it for advertising, or use it for anything else.
Sign-in codes are sent through Amazon Web Services' email service (Amazon SES). We don't send any other email.
Cookies
We use a single cookie, only to keep you signed in. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.
Backups
The database holding your email address and scores is backed up to private, encrypted Amazon S3 storage so your progress isn't lost if the server fails. Backups are kept for 30 days.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. This immediately deletes your email address and all your scores from the site. Copies in backups are removed once those backups expire, within 30 days.
Buy Me a Coffee
The “Buy me a coffee” button on the home page is loaded from buymeacoffee.com (and loads a font from Google Fonts). Buy Me a Coffee has its own privacy policy. We don't share anything with them.
